    Wendy Celebrates it’s 40th Anniversary as a Lou Henry Hoover Memorial Sanctuary this year!

    2022 is going to be an exciting year. Camp Wendy will celebrate it’s 40th anniversary of being a Lou Henry Hoover Memorial Sanctuary in August. August 13, 2022 to be exact. To celebrate, a local troop has revised and updated the environmental based Lou Henry Hoover Memorial Sanctuary patch requirements. You can learn about Wendy, local ecology and earn a beautiful patch. Please join us in celebrating this fantastic and historic property.     Lou Henry Hoover and the Girl Scouts

    Juliette Low invested Lou Henry Hoover as a Girl Scout in 1917. From then until the end of her life, Lou Henry Hoover was actively engaged in the Girl Scout movement. She was a leader of Troop 8 in Washington, D.C. for ten years; a council member in Palo Alto, California; Chairman of the Girl Scout National Board of Directors; twice elected President of the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.; and honorary president when her husband was President of the United States.
