The Poppy Book

My Silver Award, as you might recall, was to restore an older pamphlet from the 70’s for modern audiences, and to update it to include recent history.

This pamphlet was called The Poppy Book.

Poppy is a fairy who lives in a massive tree just to the right of the main gate into Camp Wendy. This tree is at least two hundred years old, and it would take eight little Brownies to reach around the whole trunk. This tree was ancient, even when Camp Wendy was founded almost a hundred years ago.

The pamphlet follows the story of Poppy throughout Wendy’s rich history, and includes pictures taken at the camp by myself.

I’ve read this book to many audiences, mainly younger girls, and I’ve posted it on Youtube.
